An oversharer? And activities and adventures are exciting, but sometimes you just want someone you can sit still with. More importantly, does he even drink coffee? What else is there to do than chat?

Some of those dates I went on, others I politely declined, but with every single one came the repeated reminder that just meeting someone new is a ridiculous amount of pressure. Meeting up before work means that my date's first impression of me will be the grumpy not-a-morning-person-troll that I am before 10 a. Does he order a basic black coffee?
You can down that thing in a few gulps and be happily on your way. You can tell a lot about someone by their coffee order. Here are nine reasons that defend my position.
You can do it before work, during lunch, after work, or any time over the weekend. Because, like I've codfee, that's all you can do.

So, based on this title I've just granted myself, I'm going to suggest what the what the best first date is — though I'm sure you can already take a guess by the title of the article. You could easily cut it short. It was simple. The hushed atmosphere means that everyone can, and does, eavesdrop. Because I almost exclusively ask first dates to meet me at a coffee shop. Something about the atmosphere just makes me feel relaxed.
Night dates can get wild, especially when music and alcohol come into play. I can't pretend that most of my coffee dates cofffee awkward, as first dates tend to be. You can just head over to the coffee shop after work and grab a coffee with this potential match. And, ocffee you have a big day the next day, you won't have to worry about a hangover. Did anyone mention terrasses? Does he take 20 minutes looking at the menu?

What better way to do that then casually sitting at a private table, looking and only talking to that one person? Adopt a hermit crab together.
Photo: J. Essentially, a first date has become a prelude to the more romantic, second date. So by grabbing coffee, you can at least somewhat undo what you may have done to your liver the evening prior.
My brutally honest opinion.
Is his order way too fancy and annoyingly specific? A first date is all about getting to know somebody better outside of the constraints in which you met — online, through an app, through a friend, etc. Want to share yours? Coffee shops usually play quiet, low-key music that you can easily talk over.
